This is a wine that wears its heart on its sleeve. The nose is exuberant with notes of warm berries, dark cherries, bittersweet chocolate and spice. The palate immediately shows immense weight and concentration, with fragrant and rounded boysenberry and blueberry characters, as well as an almost-Christmas-pudding-like spice. There is a firm structure here, with a not-insubstantial fine-grained tannic frame, and yet it is balanced by a vibrant berry-fruit acidity that cleanses the palate, ready for another sip.

A striking bouquet with an intensity of red berry fruit making their voice heard first - aromas of crushed black cherry and boysenberry fruits, some sweet red beet earthy layers, then spice and mineral, a toasty lees quality and complexity. A dry wine touches the palate yet packed with a raspberry, boysenberry and plum catalogue of fruits. Floral and mineral, fabulous texture from polished tannins and gentle layers of wood spice add complexity and lots of style. Delicious, youthful and needing or has available plenty of time to mature and develop. Best drinking from 2028 through 2036.
